Public Reading Stage: Scrutinise Bills before Parliament

The Cabinet Office launched its second pilot ‘Public Reading Stage’ – a commitment from the UK Government’s Coalition Agreement of 2010 – enabling people with expertise on an issue to comment clause-by-clause on the Small Charitable Donations Bill:

The Public Reading Stage has been created to encourage members of the public to comment on laws that are being debated by Parliament.  Comments will then be collated and considered before being sent to the House of Commons to influence debate.
