The Number 10 team combined a live blog using Coveritlive with pre-prepared infographics visualising the extent of the issue in order to maximise the impact of this speech:

The Prime Minister set out the Government’s plans to turn around the lives of the country’s 120,000 most troubled families. In a speech to an audience of charities, voluntary organisations and other key professionals in the sector, he spoke about how a new approach will put the building blocks in place to create a stronger society.

    – Live streaming -this is a bit tricky and events never start when they are supposed to. CoverItLive is helpful here as you can issue warnings about the stream running late etc..

Dry run – we split different roles within the team – ie one looked after tweets, one moderated CiL, the third promoted on Facebook and elsewhere. Practicing this the day before was really helpful and made it less frenetic on the day.
